Matt Harvey, CEO and co-owner of Enduro Bearings, has been exploring the ins and outs of bearing design since 1996. In that time, Harvey has developed a clear notion of what makes a good bearing. A lot of it comes down to quality materials and a lot of care.
Harvey joins host Dan Cavallari on the Slow Guy on the Fast Ride podcast to walk through what makes a good bearing. Of course, the bearing’s specific application will often dictate what design works best, but most bearings do have several elements in common. Harvey pulls back the curtain on some of the decisions Enduro makes to ensure its products meet or exceed the demands of the end user.
Harvey knows that there are plenty of stout competitors with better brand recognition than Enduro Bearings. But he also notes that Enduro sets itself apart by offering the best quality at affordable prices. It’s not always necessary to spend a ton of money to get the best bearings. Harvey tells us what to look for when it’s time to upgrade your bike’s spinny bits.
